So, my weekend of camping down at the pond was cut short. After dinner Saturday night I began having pain under my ribs on my right side. I decided to go lay down in the camper. The pain kept getting worse and it was going around to my back too. I decided to pack up ours things and head home. The short ride home the pain was getting pretty severe. I could hardly sit , I couldn’t really do anything to relieve the pain. Soon Josh and I found ourselves in the ER.
After telling the nurse and dr. my symptoms they said it could be kidney stones or gallstones. Soon I was hooked up to heavy duty pain medications – but they didn’t work. I was in the worse pain I could ever imagine. And on top of it all the pain medication was making me sick. Somehow I managed to fall asleep. Once the ultrasound tech arrived at 8am Sunday morning they did an ultrasound of my abdomen and back.
The dr. read the ultrasound pictures and came to tell my family and I that I have a large gallstone stuck in the duct. I couldn’t believe it. First I was camping with family and friends and the next minute I was told I needed to have surgery.
After signing papers and consenting to treatment I was wheeled into the operating room and my gallbladder was removed. Surgery went really well and I was able to go home a few hours later.
So I’m at home now recuperating, resting, knitting, just hanging out…,so come visit me! The hardest thing for me right now is the fact that I can’t lift anything over 10 lbs- Jaiden weighs 25lbs. Also, ill be out of work for at least a week. Yup- its hard, but I have an amazing husband, family and friends who are taking good care of us.
I am so thankful to have been able to have the surgery and on the road to recovery.
